Creative Writing Essay Prompt 7

37. Most private schools require students to wear uniforms. Should public school students wear uniforms too? Argue for or against school uniforms for public school student's. Use specific reasons and examples to support your position.

There have been various discussions about uniforms for public and private schools and I am not for it for either one of them. This isn’t a typical rant and rave or a false accusation that people don’t like uniforms, but it is a well known fact. Private schools think that if they have students wear uniforms it would give them a different mentality. Unfortunately, they have made a mistake that could be dire. For example, (there are people who pay for private schools and wear uniforms aren’t as spectacular as they may appear). People still get bad grades as well as expelled, so in the end clothes don’t make the student the student makes themselves. Now on the students who absolutely shouldn’t have to be forced to wear uniforms the public school students.
The only thing that private schools and public schools would have in common about uniforms is that they believe uniforms will make students behave, not get distracted, and make their schools and test scores improve. All of these things seem to be thought of with dubious intent. For example, (Inglewood High School doesn’t have a dress code or uniform, yet a lot of smart people go there and maintain the good grades). Another example is my school itself, (We are on the verge of uniforms and we have to wear a certain type of dress, but we still act the same and think the same as before so whatever thesis the people in charge of this dress code and uniform business was completely and utterly wrong). Our dress code was flimsy put together operation because an innocent person would get in tremendous trouble because if it. As an example, (We would always get scolded and we even got our activities taken away just because we don’t dress the way a certain person wants us to dress. It simply is appalling to be told what to wear and for no apparent reason.
Actually I know the reason why, it’s because people have been our principal lies or our students past to the principal and have tried to make a mockery of the school. It probably wasn’t thought how these other schools would know so much as they say “It takes one to know one”. We were always told to rise above what others say, think, and do to us and become that they know and we know we can be. Yet it seems like we have taken a tedious and cowardly approach. With all this talk of we want to suppose to be the best and rise above everything when we get criticized we cave and overreact. That seems to be the message we are given if we wear uniforms. The idea of conforming and to put a halt on our creativity and way of life shouldn’t be on the school’s curriculum.
School is said to have us gain knowledge and learn what challenges face us in the real world is up to ourselves and our family and friends, but it is not up to the school to prepare us for the real world it is up to them to give us knowledge. In the real world we are not required to wear uniforms unless a specific job. That is why they call it school and not job. As a final note I’m not trying to tell people to go to school in skimpy outfits just express yourself in a decent manner. So let students be free to wear what we want, live out their lives the way we want to live it, and give us the knowledge we will need.
