Some people want to go straight to college while others want to take a year to relax or work.I believe everyone should take a year off and do something that they always wanted to do so they will have a fresh start for college with few distractions.For example people tend to get jobs and not be able to handle the stress of working and serious studying.That's why you should get a job after or during high school so you can have money for your books, other supplies, clothes, and meal plan.Other people will complain about not doing something they wanted to do and will end up getting caught up and loosing sight on what is really important.Think of it this way with all of this partying and eploring you need to sleep so where does your time for work go.Now don't get me wrong I know what it's like to want to go off to college right away.
The hopes of going to college and trying to reach your dreams are overwhelming.The rush of pledging to join a fraternity or sorority will convince you to go.That optimistic feeling you get of wanting to experience college and all it has to offer you.The cocky feeling everyone has saying that you are ready for anything can have you leave before you are ready.As another example your family and friends are nudging you to go to college having you think that everything will be okay.Even thought they may be trying to help you sometimes they are only hurting you in that process.Last but not least,the summer orientation that prepares you for college and gives you the basics for it would make you want to rush even more.
For the people who say that they are going to college right after high school I have some questions for you.Did you want to go to college at first, if so what college are you going to?If not what made you change your mind?Are you going to follow someone else's path or are you making your own?Are you ready for the physical and mental challeneges of college,work,and other activities?For the people who want to take a year off of college I ask you after you take the year off to do to live out your journey will you want to go college?Keep in mind this is not to question you or say what you think is wrong, but to make sure that are sure of your descision and ready for what's up ahead.
The time for you to go to college or on your journey is drawing near.It is time to think of what you want to be and reach for the stars.It is okay to fall so that you will be prepared for the next attemped.So let's enjoy life for what it is,not let it's oppurtunities pass you by,reach our dreams,and see the world for what it is.
